On Tuesday, January 31st 2023 face to face and Thursday, February 2nd 2023 online multiplier event „Ready4Edu4 in UK“ was held.
Answering the questions how are universities getting ready for Industry 4.0, what is Education 4.0 and how to implement innovative pedagogies in Computer Science were some questions that were discussed.
Open University shared their lived experience of exploring what Industry 4.0 might meant for universities in Europe, participants were invited to do the same. Education 4.0 is related to the view that the current Industry 4.0 is becoming more and more automated, using modern smart technology and the Internet of Things (IoT). In particular they explored how universities could prepare for Education 4.0. At present a range of eight Joint Creative Classrooms (for example Machine Learning School; Robotics: Embedded Software Development) have been implemented across 16 computer science programs in Europe as part of this project.

Speakers were:
Prof Bart Rientiesis Professor of Learning Analytics and programme lead of the learning analytics and learning design research programme at the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University UK. He has published over 285 academic outputs, and is the 2nd most published author on Networks in Education in period 1969-2020 (Saqr et al. 2022), and the 4th most cited author and contributor in Learning Analytics in the period 2011-2018 (Adeniji, 2019)
Prof Rebecca Fergusonis Professor of Learning Futures in the Institute of Educational Technology (IET) at The Open University in the UK, and a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her primary research interests are educational futures and how people learn together online. Rebecca was an executive member of the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR) for four years and is currently one of the Editors in Chief of the Journal of Learning Analytics. Her work has been influential in shaping the field, supporting implementation across Europe, and promoting a focus on social learning analytics and on ethics.
Prof Christothea Herodotouis a Professor of Learning Technologies and Social Justice at the Open University UK. She has expertise in the design and evaluation of learning technologies that promote education opportunity and social justice, including learning analytics dashboards, online citizen science websites, and mobile game applications.
Dr Francisco Iniestois a Research Associate and Associate Lecturer at the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University, UK. His areas of research and publications are inclusive design, accessible educational technology, and open education. His background is as a Computer Engineer with extensive experience in IT consulting and software development.
